I Sent the Letter

My hands are shaking and I'm feeling sick (well, more sick), but it is done. All morning I worried over this, but then I realized that as with most things, anticipation is usually the worst part. So I hit send.

I gave her three alternatives: find a coauthor to take over, cut our losses, or continue, but expect this drag on forever and ever. I tried to make the third option look horrible.

How long before she calls and demands a pound of flesh?

Way to go Em!! I am so proud of you!! I am a people pleaser too, so I can identify with how hard that must have been~ but I think you did the right thing. I can't wait to hear how she reacts!!
Good luck!!

It sounds like you did the right thing. The best way to deal with impossible people is to be agressive and frank. Sometimes they turn in to pussycats. I think you did the right thing. It's not worth your health (or sanity) to continue like this.
